Sweet Mama

By my request I want this wish T
Oh the longing when I remember your smiles
Those special little cuddles to light the stars
The smell of your hair so close to my cheek
And when in my bed the stories so sweet
Darling dear Mother how I miss you so
Gone the special treats in winters glow
By the fireside wrapping up presents
And those tasty mince pies with apples
I feel so sad now as I try to see
How you came to school with me when I was three
Don't cry dear I can hear those words
Be brave be strong try to endure
All will be over at half past two
And home you will come just we two
And on the way I will stop at the shop
Buy a nice cake lined with cream
Oh sweet Mother I wish I could see> Once more your smile as I wait on the stairs
Could I not come to where you have gone
"Hush now child I can hear you say"
Just a little longer for you to endure
Then you can come when no longer young
I still cry a tear for my sweet Mama
I can still see her shape and armchair
The smell of her perfume in every room
I still keep her clothes from her bedroom
Until that day in the future I will just say
Adieu Darling Mother until we meet again.
